rose-ruby and lt green beaded bead set Our beaded bead necklace, bracelet and earrings are almost completed. The pink and green set is very pretty. It is looks very delicate and dainty. This was a team effort. Frank created the crystal-beaded bead that looks like a bead ball, then handed it over to me to weave the seed beads onto it.

emerald beaded beadFrank also created three large bead balls (the first part of the beaded bead) in 8mm green Swarovski crystals then strung it together with a green crystal right angle weave. This created a stunning necklace.

sapphire-crystal beaded bead set I finished the pink and green set and also made the emerald set to go with the emerald right angle bracelet. I liked these so much I made a second set , the same size as the pink and green but these are sapphire and crystal in color and style.

dark brown-white flatFrank just finished a new flat right angle weave bracelet for my mother. It is made from pearls instead of crystals. As you know, Frank makes a right angle bracelet made of Swarovski crystals that is round when finished. This bracelet remains “unfinished” in order to leave it flat instead of rounded. My mother saw the black and white crystal flat right angle weave bracelet and loved it, but wanted it in cream and brown, so we found cream and brown Swarovski pearls. The brown and cream 4mm Swarovski pearls make a beautiful combination when alternated in one-inch lengths. This bracelet will be beautiful with anything cream or brown. I just might have to have one myself .

dark brown - cream setAfter Sheri wrote the blog I finished the bracelet for her mother. She loved it. I then made her a matching pair of earrings and a single strand necklace to complete the set. Yes Sheri wanted a set and I made her a similar set the earrings for Sheri where hoops not dangle and the necklace was 8mm not 6mm. Both are happy.

The Spiral Rope Weave

The spiral rope is made from a single strand of size 6 seed beads with size 8 or 11 seed beads worked in around them in a spiral pattern. They make a beautiful base for garden necklaces. Instead of a plain set of seed beads or other beads, you can use this pattern to make a necklace that will stand out from the rest of the crowd. We have three garden necklace sets that use the spiral rope as their base. As you can see, on our web site (www.tripleajewelry.com), you can also use them to create a chain that will save on beads and make a chain that will not catch in your hair or clothes from the garden style beads. You can also use this pattern as a base in which so “drop” beads from. This means that you will create a line of beads that are woven to extend downward from the spiral rope. However you use the spiral rope, it is a wonderful and easy way to bead.

Panoramic view of glacier national park entrance

We are back from a wonderful trip on an Alaskan cruise. We saw Glacier National Park. It was a fantastic sight to see the wonders of the world. Our ship, the Westerdam, stopped for approximately nine hours while we watched nature in awe. Then we sailed on to Juneau, Sitka and Ketchikan. These were lovely places to visit. The mountains were snow capped and beautiful. We took lots of pictures to show family and friends. Alaska boasts of a host of gems and stone beads that are lovely. We saw a lot of jade artwork and jewelry. They are famous for their diamonds, Tanzanite and Amazonite gems. The also had an abundant amount of beautiful black stones and a variety of other stones in various shades of colors. What a wonderful trip to see all of the sights in these places and observe the way that they create jewelry with the beads, stones and gems that they have in their environment. Of course, this was a wonderful trip, shared with friends, but I am glad to be back home in Oklahoma where I can see for miles

handcrafted-beaded-necklacesPersonality is a hallmark of handmade crafts and jewelry; when you pick up a unique piece, you can gauge the effort and ingenuity that went into its creation. There’s nothing wrong with mass-produced jewelry per se – it’s functional and could provide the graceful look you desire. Still, by choosing a necklace or bracelet that’s been made by hand, you help support talented hobbyists and passionate amateur jewelers.

More than just a great gift idea, handcrafted beaded necklaces almost always come with a story. They might be the product of a local woman who sells her wares at an annual craft show. The creators of handmade jewelry are almost always eager to provide some background about their merchandise, and these tales can be passed on once the gift is presented.
